How to Get the Most Out of Your Rental

We at Coolmate Rentals are proud to offer excellent and reliable refrigeration solutions to southern Ontario. Our units are spacious and boast the best uptime in the industry. But there are steps that you, our customers, can take to ensure that you get the most out of your Coolmate Rentals. Here are a few tips and tricks to ensure that you have the most positive experience possible.

The first is to ensure that you have dedicated power for the trailer. While many of our coolers can run on a standard 15amp power outlet, it is important to make sure that the outlet provided isn’t being shared with any other outlets or devices. Plugging a Coolmate trailer into a shared outlet can lead to the unit not cooling as effectively as it should. So always ensure that you have the required power to operate the trailer. If you aren’t sure about the power you have available, or if you don’t have the necessary power, let us know – we have generators for rent that can power even our 30amp freezers. Just ask, we are here to help!

Another trick to ensuring a great experience is to make sure you load the trailer with food that is already cooled. Our trailers are designed to hold at specific food-safe temperatures (3-4 degrees for a cooler and -18 for freezers) so that our customers are always in compliance with food safety guidelines. If you are putting warm food into the units, it will affect the operating temperature and will force the trailer to work extra hard to maintain temperature. We know a change of only a few degrees can be devastating, so always make sure you load your cooler with already cooled food and your freezer with already frozen goods – this will ensure that your Coolmate trailer will perform above expectations.

Finally, keep that door closed!!!! A lot of our customers in the summer sometimes forget that a trailer sitting out in 30-degree heat is more vulnerable to internal temperature changes than an indoor, built-in cooler or freezer. When loading or accessing the unit, we recommend opening and closing the door as little and as quickly as possible to ensure your unit maintains a steady and safe temperature. Our units are designed to operate as efficiently as possible while still guaranteeing a perfect operating temperature – making sure the interior of the trailer isn’t exposed to extreme heat will ensure smooth and consistent operation.
